Merry Christmas 5th Grade!

Hi 5th Grade!

Merry Christmas!  I hope you all had a very joyous and peaceful day as your celebrated the birth of Jesus.  We bought an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins and put candles on it and sang happy birthday to Jesus. The girls were thrilled!

Thank you all for your wonderful and generous gifts.  I feel so appreciated and loved by you all.  I already spent the Denny's gift card by taking my family out on Saturday.  All of you who gave me ornaments, they are displayed proudly on our tree.  To those who gave yummy food, they're all consumed!  Thank you for keeping me so healthy!!!  To those that got me golf balls, I didn't lose any of them on Friday when I played.  I'm playing tomorrow morning and will be hoping none will get lost again.

Anyway, enjoy your break.  Enjoy time with your family and friends.  Be safe and I'll see you in a couple of weeks.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Bravery Defined

As we took a look at Ch. 10 today of Number the Stars I explained what my definition of bravery was.  Simply put, it is putting your life on the line to help someone else.

Post your own definition of bravery and then comment on 2 other people's definitions.

The Story Behind the Psalms

Hi 5th Grade,

Great job today during the rehearsal and during the concert.  I saw some original dance moves as you sang too!  I'm not sure if those moves were part of the original plan by Mrs. J!  :)  Anyway, to assist you in your Psalms Take-home Test, check out the following link.  This web page gives you the author and the context of many of the Psalms.

Get some rest.  Tomorrow is Friday!  TGIF!!!

Enjoy!

Panera Bread Menu

Below is the link to the Panera Bread Menu.  Please decide what you want to eat for lunch before the field trip.  This will make lunch time go smoother and quicker!  Also, you should plan on spending around $5 to $10 for lunch.  Re: money to bring for Barnes and Noble purchases, that completely depends on you.  Just know that 10% of all purchases will be given back for us to make classroom purchases.

I can't wait to be drinking my latte!
