Why are we playing scrabble in class?

It seemed like you all really enjoyed playing scrabble today in class.  Below are some of the benefits of playing scrabble in school.




  • It increases the vocabulary of a person. Even if you are learning a new language, scrabble greatly helps in picking up many new words and builds a great vocabulary.



  • It teaches spelling skills to children.



  • It enhances the mathematical skills in a person and shows us how adding one new letter can change a word or the entire meaning of a word.



  • It helps develop critical thinking in a person and teaches problem solving skills


  • It helps in developing an improved memory and a sharper brain.



  • It also promotes healthy and optimal brain functioning in the elderly people, and prevents the onset of degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s or any other mental disorders.



  • Playing this game regularly leads to improved concentration



  • Playing scrabble regularly aids in boosting the intelligence. 
  •    


  • This game prepares the brain for long term storage, retention and retrieval of information.



  • Scrabble involves the left-hemisphere of the brain and therefore, it stimulates the development and functioning of brain in children
